Volcanoes in Iceland
Iceland has one of the highest volcanic activity levels in the world and is found sitting on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which was formed from a divergence between the Eurasian and North American plate boundaries. The volcanic activity occurs as the two plates are moving towards a hotspot (20-100% magma layer from 5-20km deep).
