San Andreas Fault
Being the most famous fault line in the world, the San Andreas Fault (SAF) was formed by a Transforming plate boundary between the North American and Pacific plate boundaries. Its fame come from its outstanding and unusual size and its location. The San Andreas Fault is located on the coast of California from San Francisco to down past Los Angeles.
Earthquakes are a common occurance in California because of the location of the two plates and the SAF has become a tourist attraction as well as a marker of where two tectonic plates meet.
